MATERIAL / CONSTRUCTION
SPC, layer by layer.
A rigid composite core sits beneath the decorative surface. The layers above and below it each have a different role.
Surface finish
The outer finish defines the surface feel. A PU coating may be used, depending on the collection.
Wear layer
A transparent layer sits above the decorative film. Its specification is separate from total plank thickness.
Decorative layer
The printed design gives the floor its wood-inspired appearance.
Rigid composite core
A mineral-filled polymer core forms the main body of an SPC plank.
Backing / underlay
A backing may sit below the core. Confirm its material and installation requirements for your chosen product.
